The Poatek Experience may have ended, but it marks the start of a new legacy
The Poatek Experience was a collaborative initiative with UFRGS to ignite a powerful fusion between academia and industry. For 13 weeks, three talented students pursuing their master’s and doctoral degrees in UFRGS’s rewarded postgraduate program immersed themselves in the dynamic world of Poatek. Their journey, filled with boundless possibilities, ended on August 31st.
This transformative program empowered these ambitious scholars to participate in real-world projects actively and made it possible for us to see their passion for research. As a testament to their commitment and work, the program birthed three incredible papers, which we eagerly anticipate sharing with the world shortly.
Poatek Experience not only served as a gateway to seamless integration but also showcased the extraordinary capabilities of our exceptional local researchers. Together, academia and industry have forged an inspiring path toward limitless innovation.?
Another successful Summer Internship class has come to an end
Our Summer Internship class of 2023 has successfully concluded, and we're thrilled to share the remarkable journey our interns undertook over the past 10 weeks. We welcomed five talented students from the US who embarked on an immersive experience that seamlessly integrated technical knowledge with cultural exchange.
Our interns actively engaged in hands-on projects throughout the program, contributing their unique skills and diverse backgrounds to our team. Learning a new language: Navigating Porto Alegre as an English-speaking Summer Intern
Portuguese isn’t an easy language to learn — as a summer intern from the United States, I came to Poatek knowing very little Portuguese. Although I’m not fluent, I’ve learned a lot of essential phrases and vocabulary that help me navigate Porto Alegre.
