P&O Europoort Launches Surikat's Fast Gate Solution for Improved Efficiency and Customer Service

Surikat AB , a pioneer in innovative port technologies, proudly announces the successful launch of its automated Fast Gate solution at P&O Ferries in Europoort. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for P&O Ferries in improving efficiency, data management, and customer service for freight operations at the port, encompassing both road and rail transportation.

P&O Ferries, a longstanding partner of Surikat, has expanded its existing Lynx TOS solution with the addition of Lynx GOS, integrating automated gates to revolutionise the freight arrival and departure processes in the terminal. This project in Europoort is another successful Surikat GOS delivery performed in collaboration with Finnish supplier Visy Oy , experts in hardware solutions and AI based OCR technologies for smart gates.

The features of this cutting-edge solution include:

●????? Handling all gate processes for Rail + accompanied & unaccompanied freight.

●????? New electronic signage at the freight gate to provide clear and easy-to-follow instructions for the drivers.

●????? A Visy camera portal to analyse all vehicles entering and exiting the terminal, for both road and rail traffic, providing ANPR (automatic number plate recognition), vehicle measurement and a full 360-degree capture of the vehicle and unit condition.

●????? A self-service kiosk providing a multi-language user interface for drivers to gate-in and out of the terminal automatically, or to check in for a sailing.

●????? An automated barrier system for swift entry and exit of the terminal.

The new Fast Gate Solution will deliver a smooth, efficient, and secure entry and exit process, reducing waiting times and optimising traffic flow within the terminal. Additional benefits for P&O include enhanced data quality and visibility for the Terminal Ops team, as well as digitalised customs processes.
