This week saw yet more signs of businesses on the brink, with data from Insolvency Australia showing a 39% increase in insolvencies last financial year, as companies struggle to deal with the slowdown in economic activity and the inflationary rise in costs.

Someone never short of ideas to support the nation’s engine room is small business ombudsman Bruce Billson. He released a 14-point plan to prevent Australia from sleepwalking into a ‘‘big corporate economy’’, with proposed incentives for starting a small business, a simplified dispute resolution process, and small business awards handed down by the PM.

7 个月Anthony Albanese wouldn't know a small business if it bit him on the bum. This is a guy who has never had a real job outside of politics, let alone run a business.. The same applies to most of the politicians and bureaucrats in Canberra. All these people want to do is use small business as a basis for virtue signalling and political posturing, while drowning it in bureaucratic red and green tape and taxing and charging it to death. For small business owners they're nothing but time wasters. When politicians and bureaucrats say i'm here to help, run for your life - it could be the kiss of death for your business.
