PMI-CIC January 2025 Newsletter

Dear PMI Central Illinois Chapter Members and Guests,

Happy New Year! As we embark on 2025, I am filled with excitement and optimism for what lies ahead. This year, we are embracing a theme that reflects both our aspirations as a chapter and the evolving role of project management in the world around us:

"Strategic Impact: Redefining Value, Aligning for Success"

This theme is inspired by the growing recognition that successful projects are not only about execution but about delivering measurable value that resonates with our companies, communities, and society. To that end, we will focus on four guiding principles throughout the year:

  • Manage Perceptions: Help stakeholders see value relative to resources invested and ensure alignment on objectives with measurable outcomes.
  • Own Project Success: Taking accountability for the project's value, not just its execution.
  • Reassess Parameters: Adapting to evolving needs, technologies, and goals to maintain alignment and deliver value.
  • Expand Perspectives: Aligning projects with broader business objectives and their impact on the world.

We aim to provide you opportunities to grow professionally, connect with peers, and take your skills to the next level. We are creating an exciting calendar of events and networking events to achieve this.

We are thrilled to start this journey with our first meeting of the year,?"Finding New Direction in Times of Change," featuring our guest speaker Kim Kaufman. This January 14th session will set the tone for the year and inspire us to approach our projects with renewed energy and purpose. Please mark your calendars for this inaugural event and join us as we chart a course toward strategic impact and meaningful growth.??

Thank you for being part of our chapter and for your commitment to advancing the project management profession. We will make 2025 a year of learning, collaboration, and success.

Let's redefine value and align for success — starting now. I look forward to seeing you at our first meeting and throughout the year.

Stay connected with us on our website and social media platforms for events, resources, and more updates!

Warm regards,

Ingrid Holliday, PMP, PMI-SP. AH-MC President, PMI Central Illinois Chapter
