PMI Certification Exam Imposters? What to do ?
Recently, I was approached by someone on LinkedIn who promised me a 100% pass guarantee for PMP and PgMP. The person was so dumb that he didn’t even notice that I already have the PMP and PgMP certifications boldly visible on my profile name!
They are just the lead collectors, and then they pass your contact info to their "managers", who explain the overall MODUS OPERANDI.?Basically, there is a proxy expert who writes the exam on behalf you - be it an online or center-based test.
You might have also been approached by someone who promises a “100% pass guarantee” on LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or through a call. Please believe me "Only the fraudsters" can gurantee you the pass! These imposters often use proxy testing, wherein someone else writes the exam on your behalf. They either hijack your computer or have someone inside the test centers who helps proxy to write the exam for you. The rates are exorbitant (7-8K USD) and often have an impressive LinkedIn profile with very few connections (as they have to keep changing the profiles). This has been going on for about 4-5 years and has not stopped means, even today their business is thriving.
When you look for a certification from PMI, it has to be earned by having the necessary experience and a formal understanding of management methodologies. There is no use in getting just the certification paper without acquiring any knowledge. It will be a problem later, when someone can't show the required level of proficiency and they will find it difficult to scale up and get a feel of rejection. Worst of all, it is like cheating oneself and repenting all through life!

Further, because the imposter knows the truth, they may blackmail you to reveal the true picture!!
What to do when an imposter approaches you with promises:
PMI has a page on Exam Security and about this type of fraud at https://www.pmi.org/certifications/certification-resources/exam-security
. Clear instructions are given to report the incident to PMI and enable them to take action. You can email a picture/message with other details to [email protected].

1 年I too was approached by a desperate PMP aspirant who wanted me to take the exam on his behalf. I courteously declined.
