PLM Roadmap/PDT 2020 Virtual Event

We all are being forced to look for new ways of conducting Business Events. So, all the physical Events are being transformed into Digital Events and so is the PLM Roadmap/PDT 2020 organized last week by CIMdata and Eurostep jointly.

 It was half day long 3 days Event, started with the excellent Inaugural session by Peter Bilello, President and CEO, CIMdata who truly justified the theme Digital Thread—the PLM Professionals’ Path to Delivering Innovation, Efficiency, and Quality. His presentation explained about how and why the Digital Twin and its digital thread are inseparable.

The event was witnessed by 250+ Users and was highly dominated by Aerospace and Défense industry who participated and presented their Digital Driven PLM Roadmap. Companies like Boeing, Airbus, BAE Systems, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Gulfstream Aerospace, Raytheon and Saab presented their Case studies addressing their requirements, roadmaps and Implementations.

 There were several interesting topics by A&D PLM Action Group (PAG) consists of Nine Tier 1 Companies supported by CIMdata on Multi-view BOM Solution Evaluation, How to enable a Model based Definition (MBD) set of concepts, processes & tools, How to evaluate current data interoperability technologies in support of Model-Based Systems Engineering and much more.

Another informative session was from Marc Halpern from Gartner. He shared his viewpoint on Digital Thread and Digital Twin and explained how it support resilience. He also mentioned that how their customers are actively looking for solutions for Digital Twin, Digital Thread and aligned services resulted in transparency and traceability. 

Overall there was so much functional and technical information shared by all the Speakers and the Sponsors. Loads of learning one can get and hopefully implementing few would results in Improvements in all three dimensions (Innovation, Efficiency and quality) within the Organization.
