Please support "Las Abogadas" on #GivingTuesday — and throughout the month of December

For my birthday this year, which is in December, I’m starting on #GivingTuesday by asking members of my network to support a project I believe in. Las Abogadas, a documentary film in progress, will tell the story of migrants seeking safety in the U.S. The challenges of migration are shown from the perspective of six amazing women attorneys who do everything they can to help people in desperate need — asylum seekers fleeing danger and believing in the promise of “America.”
I am the film’s Executive Producer, and like the filmmakers — and the featured attorneys — I am not doing this to make money, but to make a point: that our lauded “country of immigrants” can and should do better. This is a nonprofit venture — a tool with which to advocate and educate — and your donation is tax-deductible and will be used exclusively to finish the film. (To anyone located outside of the U.S.: you won’t get a tax deduction, but you can still rest assured that your donation will support a good cause.)
I will match all donations dollar for dollar. So your $10 donation will be worth $20. Your $100 donation will be worth $200. Your $500 donation will be worth $1,000.
But donations of any amount make a difference.

The film will be rolled out with a robust educational and social impact strategy. We’ll be screening the film for lawmakers on Capitol Hill; for change makers at the state and local level; for college students and law students considering how they might become lawyers who do good in the world; and for audiences of all kinds looking for ways to make a difference.
Please go to the link below if you’d like to support this project. It’s not just a movie. It’s a tool for advocacy and social change.
