Please Help Me Raise £293.71
I would never normally make a plea like this on LinkedIn. Then again, I would never normally run a half-marathon. I've never run a race for a charity. I've never run this distance, and I've never had to train so hard to prepare for a race. So, all rules have been thrown out the window.
My husband and I are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on the 14th October for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, in support of our good friends, who's 3 year old son has Cystic Fibrosis. In taking a charity place, we've pledged to raise a minimum of £800 for the CF Trust, which I thought would be a piece of cake! So, of course, I set my goal to raise £1000 (because I always want to go above and beyond). Now, with little over 5 weeks until the race, we've only reached 50% of our target!
I'm incredibly grateful to all our supporters and every time we're sponsored, it spurs us on to train harder and run further. So, I'm asking for £293.71, so we can reach our pledge to the CF Trust. But, I'd like to smash my Target and reach the £1000. Please donate anything you can spare. It all contributes toward an amazing cause. All currency is welcome.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic Fibrosis affects the digestion and lungs in the 1 in 2,500 babies born in the UK with the condition – one of which is my close friend’s son, Seth (see pics below). Seth is only 3 years old and his life expectancy is 40 years. BUT, money raised for the CF Trust will help with research that will improve the standard of care and support of people with the condition and their loved ones. With advances in care, treatment and understanding of the condition, people with cystic fibrosis are living longer and healthier lives than ever before.
And we know, as our friends know, that there IS hope for the future. And, I’m going to do my damnedest to help them in any way possible...including running.
Even if you can't donate, please take the time to read our personal story about being pregnant alongside my friend, making plans, then finding out that everything in their lives would change and how we, their friends, have tried to help: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Dean-Gloria-McCann
