"Please file your complaint"?

"Please file your complaint"

Have you ever been to a restaurant and you had to say, “Please call your manager?” yes, some people might say that sounds like a Karen, but it is not always right. There are cases that “Karens” might be right, they could change the way they express their complaint that is the issue.?

A few years ago, I said in an interview that I love failures, although as a perfectionist, failure can be a trigger, but I wouldn’t learn otherwise. The other days we were having a discussion with my son about people and expectations. The definition of disappointment is a nonfulfilled expectation that we had from someone and many times that might be from our own self.?

Think of this scenario: As I said in the beginning of this article, you must have asked at least once in your life for the manager of the restaurant. Why do you think we do that? Because we feel that the “authority” will pay attention to our complaint. We will have the satisfaction of being respected and listened. The manager on the other hand he or she has to listen with patience and deal with the matter in a calm polite way if he wants to keep his/her restaurant busy. Also, by listening to the customer’s complaints that will make the customers experience better and improve the quality of his restaurant, right? Not always but sometimes the client is right.?

Now, I have a question for you. What do you to improve your quality of self and your lifestyle? I am hustling lately to get more clients for my business and at the same time help as many people I can. So, I decided that I will be the annoying customer who must make a complaint to the manager.?

Have you ever thought to write a letter to yourself? Write down every week of your “complaints” self-reflect of what you haven’t done right or what you could have done better???In order to improve something, we must first be aware of what is going wrong. If we are not aware of this more than anything, if we dont try it will go in vain. It is not always obvious and that’s why it might take some time until you start seeing results.?

Every Friday I am filing in my feedback for my week to myself. Especially if you are an entrepreneur you will know that a lot of self-discipline is needed and sometimes actually can be exhausting. This method might help you keep you on track for your progress and control your procrastination. Also, it applies to anyone either you are a CEO, an employee, an entrepreneur, a student we all need to improve and become the best version of ourselves.?

Let me know how this is working for you?

Thank you

Feedback is so important

Hi Nadia, Thanks for the analogy of complaining to the manager. Building on your suggestion of writing a complaint letter to yourself, I would add acknowledging what you did right this week. When was the last time you said something nice to yourself about an accomplishment (big or small)? And using your example of a poor food service worker, how about leaving a tip of how they can improve their performance instead of leaving money on the table. Having a real consequence for poor performance show up in what you earn is a great way to learn a lesson. Thanks again for inspiring this important conversation.
