FRIENDS OF DEANNA KENT MEMORIAL FUND
This week (July 29, 2024), we lost a beloved friend and family member, Deanna Kent. She was diagnosed with Bulbar ALS a year ago although symptoms had started a year before. It is an aggressive form of ALS, and she died due to complications. Ron, her loving husband of 33 years was by her side.

Deanna was always a joyful, energetic, caring, connecting, and engaging friend to many people throughout her life. Her life experiences and friendships crossed a broad array of people who knew and felt her love and care. Deanna worked at Eli Lilly and Company for 33 years (1984 - 2017), starting in her hometown of Detroit and later relocating to Indianapolis. Although she retired, she did not stop working with jobs in retail, Chanel consultant, landscaping, and catering as well as volunteering with food pantries, Maker Playground 5th Grade Woodshop, The Center for the Performing Arts, and vaccination centers. Deanna was recognized by the city of Fishers, Indiana as a volunteer of the month. She cherished her wonderful dogs and all the time they spent with them.
Once she received her ALS diagnosis, she and Ron both actively engaged in the local ALS community. They attended social events and fund-raising, as well as visiting many ALS friends in their homes who were unable to travel – once again going above and beyond.
While Ron navigates this unimaginable loss, we are reaching out to Deanna’s large network of friends and loved ones to ask for any donations that could help cover the costs of some of the medical, home mobility rehabilitation, and any other expenses that he is incurring during this incredibly difficult time. We know that many of you wish to celebrate Deanna’s life with those who loved her, and we will share details about a Memorial Service this fall. Once finalized, there will also be a virtual attendance option for those unable to be present.
Every dollar donated will go directly to support these expenses. This fundraiser has been created with Ron’s blessing, as well as his expressed gratitude and love to all of us who loved Deanna.
We’ll miss our friend. Thank you so much,
Friends of Deanna
