I am really sorry to write an article on Linkedin, I know the reach is close to zero but the goal here is different. This is a test.

I am actually trying to understand what influences the SSI score on Linkedin. We are talking here about the social selling score you can access yours here.

You might wonder why the social selling score matters? Well, according to studies I read, the SSI score largely influences the reach of your posts, a score higher than 75 would give you a 125% organic reach when a score 60-75 gives you a 100% base reach. If you are under 60... you go down to 75%.

And the score has 4 components, the first one being "establish your professional brand" and seems to be linkedin to how complete your profile is and what you shared.

Because articles are CRAP is terms of reach, I never bother (thanks Linkedin for killing their reach), a bit like Linkedin stories have a crap reach.

My linkedin profile is full, I think I have pretty much everything I can add on there but my score is still not 25.

And because Linkedin does not disclose what influences your score and my goal for a future conference talk is to know how to bring it up, I am writing this article just to see the impact a new article will have on my score.

I know I am probably one of the only few caring about this score really but as we are the slaves of the algorythms, we need to understand them... and there is no other way than making a test.

I hope this read was not too boring for you and makes sense and because the reach (comments, likes) might also have an importance, it would be really nice of you if you could comment a bit on this!

I will be doing other tests on my linkedin and monitoring my score on a daily basis, phase one of my test was to be really unactive on linkedin for 3 weeks (and what better time than moving home and taking a "holiday" to do so hahaha), I got -5 points in 3 weeks.

Next step, boosting my activity on linkedin in terms of likes/comments on posts and see what moves on the "engage with insights" category, wish me luck!

Yours sourcingly,

Guillaume Alexandre

Thanks Guillaume for keeping the HR community updated with the Linkedin inside intelligence related to our Linkedin professional brand. I very often enjoy reading your comments as they are meaningful to an HR professional based in the GVA lake region. Thanks again. PS I hope your score moves or is boosted in the direction you intended ;-)
