Please Allow Me to Re-introduce Myself

...I am a woman of deep intuitive connection gifts.

This is so much so, that my insights can often seem, well, counterintuitive.?(You want to "go big"? I say aim for less but with bigger names. You want to change the world? I say change your sector and tell a story that the world then has to hear.)

I realize that many of you who have come across my work only recently may not know my deep background. And, there is a really interesting through-line. So, I think it’s worth the quick, 5 bullet point story. Here goes:

2004 - Published/co-authored Don’t Think Pink, a well-regarded marketing to women book that you may have on your bookshelf somewhere. It launched several years of consulting, global speaking and writing on the topic. I was one of the earliest business writers on Huffington Post (remember that?). From there I moved my topic to women as green consumers, then to “women’s ways” of leading, and then - sustainability leadership broadly - and how women’s ways are the key to success.?

2008 - Got on Twitter. Digging in and quickly understanding how to build engagement with high-value followers was easy for me (which ended up serving me very well in my sustainability and climate work moving forward - see my Greenbiz/Trellis piece on Twitter Leadership, which 1000% aligns with my current approach to building leadership visibility and climate media connections).

2011 - Wrote my Master’s thesis (Goddard College, Sustainable Business and Communities) on the evolution (or revolution) of sustainability leadership that emphasizes psychology, communications and engagement - or the more “soft skills” as key. I published a Reuter’s piece that also came out of that period and connects the women’s market dots to corporate sustainability leadership.

2015 - Consulted with We Mean Business in social media strategy leading up to COP21. My expertise around thte power of social media for elevating, engaging and amplifying climate leadership thus began. From there, I consulted on high level sustainability communications for corporate sustainability and climate/environmental NGOs. (Here’s a piece I collaborated with Onalytica on that diagrams the #cities4climate conversations during COP21, as example of understanding/mapping networks.)

2024 - Fast forward to what I have coined, Climate Influence. Through my advising work over the years, it has become clear that leaders themselves (not just their organizations) were missing the stakeholder trust-building GOLD: they were neglecting to share the stories of their personal climate values and how that connected with their professional policies and decisions. When you strategically use a leader’s visibility in coordination with their brand’s platform, you can exponentially increase impact. You also speed the sector’s social norm- shifting climate power. I am now using my Living Change podcast platform, my Substack, a developing documentary, and more, to amplify the “unexpected messengers” I find who have identified their climate influence. They are all now showing other political, corporate and cultural leaders that they can easily do the same.?

TODAY I do advisory call jumpstarts for clients.

I am also in full-on creative collaboration mode for podcast, film and event projects. If you’ve been looking for a shortcut to understanding, and more intentionally using, your own leadership voice for big climate impact that includes media coverage, podcast guesting, speaking engagements and more, we should do just that - talk for an hour. If you want to more quickly find collaborators and connect dots for your big projects or events, that’s another way I can help.?

It does seem counterintuitive. From my 30K view, I then shrink the scale of the overwhelming task at hand to its fine points, zeroing in on the people you MOST want to be seen among and the buzz you most dream of getting (that could be 2 people). I help you build that map, and maybe more importantly, I light the spark so YOU leave a call with me feeling a lot more excited about it all.? Let's GO! (We really need all of you not to lose your post- #ClimateWeekNYC energy! )

great to learn more about your background,, from my vantage point, your ability to communicate superbly is notable and we should all learn.. thanks
