The Mitch Locsin Legacy?????
Meet the PLDT Enterprise executive who advocates in building a stronger,??????
more resilient future for the country’s IT-BPM sector?????
“We have seen the acceleration of technology trends like telehealth, Internet of Things, and digital payments just to name a few, at a speed never seen before! This reminds us of our responsibility not just to keep up but to lead the pack.?The IT-BPM industry’s trajectory is simple, there is nowhere to go but up,”?says First Vice President and Head of Enterprise and International Business Groups of PLDT and Smart, Albert Mitchell L. Locsin.???
For Locsin, there is still much to be done to push the country’s?IT and Business Process Management (IT-BPM)?industry forward. With over 23 years of management experience and over eight years in the Business Process Outsourcing and Information Technology practice, Locsin has witnessed and took part in the developments, transformations, and even the lows of the sector, making him a veteran in understanding the needs of the industry.???
??
An accomplished leader??
Locsin’s industry knowledge came from his accumulated years of experience in the industry. Among this, he served?as the Global Business Development Executive of Logica Philippines from March 2008 to May 2011, Managing Consultant of People2Outsource , Inc. from August 2006 to March 2011, and Executive Director of the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines, Inc. (IBPAP) from June 2005 to March 2008– all which are a testament to his expertise.??
In 2008, he was awarded as the?ICT individual Contributor of the Year?by the ICT International Awards which recognizes individuals who have impacted the sector by their important role in boosting and advocating for the IT-BPM industry. The International ICT Awards is the leading and most prestigious ICT award-giving body in the Philippines acknowledging the works of companies and individuals who have contributed to expand the influence of the industry in the country and globally.??
?????
An advocate of growth?????
Locsin remains to be?a firm advocate of the industry’s continual and sustainable growth. His professional experience of over 10 years with PLDT Enterprise, the corporate business unit of the PLDT Group, is a testament to this.????
He started as the Vice President and Head of Corporate Relationship Management for the Outsourcing and Offshoring Industry in 2011 until December 2015, after which he was promoted to head the small and medium business groups of the organization, PLDT SME Nation. Currently, he leads the Enterprise Business team that ensures that the company’s services and capabilities remain at par with the rest of the world.?????

But more than just working hard to keep this company at the forefront of innovation,?Locsin sees to it that he contributes to honing the future of the industry.?Currently, he is the?Chairman, and former President,?of the? Contact Center Association of the Philippines ,?an organization aimed in accelerating growth in the IT-BPM industry,?and one of its founding members that continue to lead and champion inclusive and sustainable growth in the organization.???
In 2023, his goal is to remain a strong influence in the industry by taking part in the progression led by organizations such as?the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP)— the primary trade body and advocacy group of the country’s agile, dynamic, and resilient IT-BPM sector.???
?????
A champion of the Filipino talent?
Locsin continues to?support the organization that he so admires?and has been a part of for?almost two decades. In 2005 he started as the First Executive Director of IBPAP until 2008, and in 2021, as an Advisory Board Member.?????
This year,?Locsin is running to be a part of the Non-Industry Board of Trustees of IBPAP.????
“Now is not the time to stop. There is still much to do,” says Locsin. “The pandemic saw countless opportunities for Filipinos and the IT-BPM sector. We welcomed transformations that we only could imagine before– tools that allow us to collaborate and solutions that improve business efficiency. This is where leaders will come in, this is how we want to make an impactful IT-BPM sector for the Filipinos and around the world, by continuing what we started and doing more.”???
Once elected, his main thrusts include?championing for a more progressive IT-BPM industry this 2023– driving growth in the sector while leveraging on the skills of Filipinos and pushing for the world-class capabilities the Philippines has to offer.?It has always been Locsin’s interest to advocate for a?better IT-BPM sector while positioning the country as an integral part of the industry,?and through his influence in the organization and experience, his goal is to make this dream a reality.??
As a member of the Non-Industry Board of Trustees, his vision is to reinforce a stronger Telecommunications Infrastructure as part of the 2028 Roadmap Priority Acceleration Levers for the growth of digital cities and the stability of the hybrid work culture. He also aims to position the Philippines as the Center for Excellence for Customer Experience by attracting investors in a post-pandemic future by leveraging on PLDT and Smart’s world-class digital infrastructure and supporting the integrated upskilling of the IT-BPM workforce. Lastly, he will strengthen the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Structure of the industry by advocating for a stronger calamity and disaster resilience for every IT-BPM company to maintain the Philippine’s competitive edge in the global market and elevate its digital ecosystem.?
“This 2023, my objective for IBPAP is “Driving Breakthrough Growth” as we continually strive to adapt and find innovative solutions to emerging problems,” he says.??????
Indeed, great leadership is about drawing lessons from the past to create the best future, and for Locsin, this is the way to go if we want to build a stronger, more resilient future for the country’s IT-BPM sector.?His experience, passion, vision, and dedication to lead and serve make him a force to be reckoned with in the industry.???
“I believe that the Philippines is ripe to become a premier and preferred digital and IT destination, and that is something that we can achieve in the near future, together,” he shares.?????

1 年Dear PLDT, I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the ongoing internet outage that has lasted for four days. Despite being promised a resolution within three days, we have received no updates or assistance from PLDT. The lack of communication and failure to address the issue is unacceptable. We are paying customers who rely on a stable internet connection, and this extended outage, coupled with unfulfilled promises, is both inconvenient and concerning. I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation and restore faith in PLDT's commitment to customer satisfaction.
