Off late, we hear so many things from friends and colleagues on their discomfort they get in, while playing their cards. Some complain on the environment in which they operate, some on analysing their 'BIG DATA' and some complain about the analysis paralysis of their organisation. Seriously to be a coffee corner hero, few dissect the strategy and argue on what the top management failed to think. Yes! its humane and natural to lose the cool to hear nostalgic tactics that failed. What differentiates a real hero in the organisation, is to accept the failure and figure out how to improve and move the nodes to execute the change.
Recollecting the past moments of success , you will agree, what you did to get there, will never take you to the next level. It's "The difference" you brought to help the organisation to come out of the struggle, will make you to be a super hero and will be a topic to chit-chat during other's coffee corner discussions.
One may argue, bureaucracy, line of command - makes it difficult to manoeuvre oneself to place a small step for a great success. "A little drop everyday adds up to big ocean" ! However, a entrepreneurial thinker knows how to dwell into synergies to make a great move that could change fortunes for the organisation. If one brave soul can do a change, in adding value to the value chain, a collective approach from many brave entrepreneurial thinkers, will be the differentiation factor. This makes the competitors to re-look on their strategy board and do some alterations to play a new game.
Remember, bureaucracy is defined to support in ease of making the decisions faster and never created the occupier to be worshiped. The ease of approach, comfort and professional cosiness of the leader, is what it defines to be a great agile leader. Agile Leaders dwell in the midst of many leaders, entrepreneurial thinkers. Organisation's success is defined on how well the synergies are matched with the stakeholders and how well its trump card (People) are used.
For sure, the organisation would reap benefits in shifting the game being played at competitors comfort zone into a new zone created by our agile leaders and entrepreneurial thinkers.
Think where you want to be : Coffee Corner to discuss the game? or at Corner Office to define a new game be a coffee corner show stopper ?
So! What’s your Game Plan?
How are you 'Playing the Game to WIN’?
