Playing Around With Deep Learning: The Iceland Version

I hope everyone is having a happy weekend so far preparing for Football Sunday: The FIFA World Cup Final and Week 15 of the 2022 NFL Season.

I received some datasets and photos from a good friend of mine from undergrad who was doing her PhD thesis is Iceland. She was in candidacy for an Environment Engineering PhD at the time. So I took a moment to look at her work and try to play around with the photos given using Python. (Side note: both my friend and I received undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering)

Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see from the photo above, this is my actual code analyzing the data from the cover photo and making a predictive outcome. I've utilized the following packages:

  • Python Image Library (PIL/Pillow)
  • Tensorflow
  • Keras
  • Numpy
  • Matplotlib

In summation, I've basically manipulated the cover photo, used predictive analysis, and decoded the photo set to see what is in that image. The results will be on a separate video.
