Playful (with a twist)
"I Was Here" by Ivy Naté
Suggestion: Try to read the barely visible message on the pedestal. The work is brilliant for using cast, which could be viewed as having various organic, multi-bodily dialogic ramifications. Still, to each their own reactions.
"Mug Shot" is at first funny. Then, at least in one of my ad-hoc dialogues with the piece, I was thinking, "What have I done last night?" And no, not the obsession of becoming famous, but where did I leave myself last night and the previous others? Who traces my steps, where is my Gretel, which, ironically sends me back to the artist's first work, "I (too) Was Here."
