Play your own game... With & against yourself

Life is a game you don't play against others. You play it against yourself, and your only teammate in this game is also you.
I learnt that lesson after a few hard knocks, but it was a lesson well learnt.
If you are looking for hubris, there is always going to be someone doing worse than you, and if you are looking to feel humble, there is always going to be someone doing better than you.
Both of them are on their own unique life journey. There is nothing in your life that can be defined by them.
The only person who is really relevant to what you are and what you can be, is you.
You are the only standard that you should be competing against and the only person who can give you real help is you.
Are you intentional with your life?

Do you see what's wrong and work to fix it?
That is the foundation of everything.
Recognizing what you need to change about yourself and working to correct that.
This is not an easy job. Most of us have a strong bias, either in favor or against ourselves. We tend to either love ourselves too much or judge ourselves too harsh. Both of these will set us back.
Sometimes you need to move aside from yourself and evaluate yourselves objectively, like a friend or mentor would. Review your actions and your results. What were the motivations? What can you change?
Changing yourself is not easy but it is going to happen anyway. You will change in response to forces either outside, or within you. Nearly every single time a change that is powered from the inside will lead to a better outcome.
Run your life like you run your business. With care and attention to detail.
