Play-Ins Day 1: CG v UoL
In the first game of 2019 Worlds we were gifted some very stand out picks. Primarily in the Heimerdinger Bot & the Renekton Mid. Heimer has been out of the meta for many many patches and his most memorable games are actually from last year's Worlds event at the hands of European Bot laner Petter "Hjarnan" Freyschuss who was on G2 Esports at the time. This time around however he was being controlled by UoL's Bot Nihat "Innaxe" Aliev who used it to devastating effect. Using Heimer's oppressive mage kit to counter CG's ganks, dives, and attempts at objective control his play was quite memorable and provided much conversation for the rest of the day's games.
On the stage Clutch Gaming looked and felt nervous and uncertain, constantly making the front half of a play only to disengage and ultimately get turned on. Where as for the Unicorns they looked hungry, constant risk taking occurred, and that in part with their innovative draft ultimately gained them the victory.
