Play at the Alan Greenberg Golf Tournament 9/19/17 @Barnsley Gardens.

Entrepreneur. Leader. Philanthropist. Meet Alan Greenberg, the namesake of the 15th Annual Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament which is scheduled for September 19th at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, Georgia.

Greenberg spent his early years in a family owned flooring business and developed a passion for entrepreneurship, which led him to co-found CCA Global Partners, where he later became Co-Chairman and Co-CEO.

Through CCA, he coached and counseled hundreds of small business owners and their employees with a focus on leveraging the buying power of flooring retailers to secure better deals from large vendors and offering a consistent, coherent marketing message. Outside CCA, he helped dozens of startup and small business owners develop their business skills.

The Alan Greenberg Golf Tournament benefits the Floor Covering Industry Foundation, a non-profit organization that is headquartered in Dalton, but serves individuals across the country who work or have worked in the floorcovering industry. The Foundation provides families with financial support in times of life-altering hardships, such as catastrophic illnesses or severe disabilities.

Greenberg earned his MBA from St. Louis University in 1968 and joined Tile Town/Carpet City as a minority stockholder. He helped grow the company into a $20 million organization. He then owned his own business, Sun Carpet, which was a 4-store chain. Greenberg later joined with Howard Brodsky, current FCIF Board Chair and co-CEO of CCA Global, in 1984 and led 11,000 independent floor covering retailers to participate in the industry’s first “Billion Dollar Carpet Sale,” which inspired the idea for Carpet One, now part of CCA Global Partners. Carpet One currently has over 1,000 stores worldwide in its flooring cooperative.

In addition to his work with CCA Global, Greenberg served as president and chairman of the board of the Retail Floorcovering Institute. In 2002, he was inducted into the World Floor Covering Association Hall of Fame. He has been the vice chairman of the Floor Covering Industry Foundation and was awarded the FCIF Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.

Greenberg helped establish the CCA Global Partners/FCIF Annual Charity Golf Tournament which has raised more than $1 million to assist families in the industry when they are fighting the hardest battles of their lives. After Greenberg’s death in 2007, the tournament was named in his honor.

“I encourage all our industry partners to play a role in this year’s event,” shared Howard Brodsky. “The tournament gives us the opportunity to connect with our colleagues in a casual atmosphere while we work towards improving the lives of our floor covering industry family.”

Flooring industry manufacturers, distributors, retailers, industry trade associations, and individuals have the opportunity to contribute to the FCIF through the Alan Greenberg Memorial Fund by participation in the tournament, sponsorships, and donations. Everyone is invited to play in the tournament and can register through the Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament website: www.alangreenbergfcif.com.
