Last Wednesday, I attended the WISE Conference 2024 at the IET in London. The event focused on educating, enriching, and promoting diversity and inclusivity for women in STEM. Panels, sessions, and workshops covered topics such as period policies, menopause, public speaking, allyship and mentoring.

WISE also celebrated its 40th anniversary, with its patron, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, attending to extend her congratulations to the organisation for its dedication to building inclusive workplaces for women in STEM and for its contributions to the sector.

EngineeringUK report shows 19.2% employed in engineering & tech

A new EngineeringUK workforce report?reveals that around a fifth (19.2%) of the UK workforce (both employed and self-employed) were working in an engineering and technology occupation in 2023.

A further 10.2% were working in the industry but not in an engineering or technology occupation, which might include, for example, those working in HR at an engineering or technology company.
