Plastic Products Are Often Insulators With Static Problems

Plastic Products Are Often Insulators With Static Problems

Plastic products are usually insulators, so the plastics industry is also hardest hit by static electricity problems.

In the bag making area, moulding, plastic bottle production, masterbatch transport and other processes, strong static elimination treatment must be carried out, otherwise it will cause serious problems such as dust absorption, electrocution, incorrect transmission and clogging of transmission pipes. Therefore, static eliminator is essential in the industrial production process.

Next, I will analyse for you:

which scenes need to eliminate static electricity? Where to install the static eliminator? What kind of static eliminator to choose?

1. Static electricity elimination function of flat bag making machine

Problem:

For the vast majority of bag making processes, static electricity causes the product to stick to the bag at the exit of the sealer and the bag cannot be collected properly.

Our Suggestion:

Install high performance ion bars at the entrance end of the sealer to neutralise static electricity in front of the sealer;

Installing ion bars at the top and bottom of folded and thicker bags.

2. Plastic bottle production, automated transport and processing

Problem:

During the production of plastic bottles, a large amount of static electricity will accumulate after falling into the hopper, which will lead to electric shock in serious cases.

Our suggestion:

Install ion bar above the hopper to prevent bottles from sticking to each other and operators from being electrocuted.

3. Static electricity removal from injection moulded parts conveyor belts

Problem:

Static electricity can cause injection moulded parts to be attracted to the conveyor belt without falling into the collection box.

Our suggestion:

Static eliminators can be installed above the conveyor belt; ionic air rods can also be installed according to the specific situation.

4. Static electricity elimination for thermal vacuum forming of plastic films

Problem 1 (Cutting edges, chips, cleaning):

When cutting or processing moulded parts, airborne dust will be adsorbed, so they need to be cleaned before colouring and packaging.

Our suggestion:

You can choose manual and automatic cleaning equipment, use ion air gun, ion air nozzle, etc.

Problem 2 (Thermoforming and Vacuum Forming):

Heat, pressure and separation from the mould will cause static electricity to be generated, resulting in products sticking to each other and adsorbing large amounts of dust.

Our suggestion:

Ion fan or static elimination bar can be used.

5. Lightweight plastic products sticking to the surface of the mould

Problem:

For hollow and thin-walled injection moulded parts, such as disposable syringes and other medical products, the injection moulded parts cannot fall into the collection system due to static clinging to the mould surface.

Our suggestion:

Choose an ion fan or ion air wand. When the mould is opened, a stream of ionic air is blown from the top of the mould to neutralise the static electricity of the injected parts on the mould.

6. Electrostatic dedusting bag-making machine

Problem:

For the vast majority of bag making processes, static electricity can cause the product to stick to the bag at the exit of the sealer, preventing it from closing properly.

Our Suggestion:

Install high-performance ion bars at the inlet end of the sealer to neutralise static electricity in front of the sealer;

Ion bars should be installed at the top and bottom of folded and thicker bags.

7. Electrostatic removal of mobile phone housings and plastic casings

Problem:

Static electricity tends to make the plastic casing adsorb dust and also "clicks" easily.

Our suggestion:

Install an ion fan above the workbench

8. Plastic bottle production - cap injection moulding

Problem:

When producing caps, static electricity must be eliminated in order to prevent dust adsorption, operator electrocution and product misalignment.

Our suggestion:

Install ion bars (or other remote static eliminators, which can use ion fans, etc.) above the silo.

9. Plastic bottle production - blow moulding comparison

Problem:

Static electricity is a problem throughout the plastic bottle and cap industry. During the blow moulding process, the type blanks are attracted to the moulds.

Our suggestion:

The ion bar should be installed at a distance of 500mm to neutralise the static electricity of the parison and prevent it from being adsorbed by the mould.

When a longer operating distance is required, the gas source type ion bar can be chosen to eliminate static electricity at a distance of about 1m.

10. Moulding - Collection

Problem:

Small plastic parts that accumulate a lot of static electricity in the hopper will adsorb dust in the air and cause static electric shock.

Our Suggestion:

When the injection moulded parts are dislodged into the hopper, the use of ion bars can effectively eliminate static electricity and prevent adsorption of dust and electric shock.

11. Plastic bottle production - raw material filling

Problem:

When filling plastic containers with dry products such as powders or granules, the following problems occur:

  • The product adheres to the top of the container around the spiral opening;
  • the product sticks to the container;
  • The product even jumping out of the container;
  • the product attracts dust.

Our Suggestion:

Before filling, install an ion bar 25 to 50 mm above the container to neutralise the static electricity on the top of the bottle.

12. Plastic bottle production - canning dislocation

Problem:

During the production and transfer of plastic bottles, it is common for containers to be misaligned due to excessive static electricity.

Our Suggestion:

Ion bars can be installed on both sides of the conveyor belt to prevent misalignment before pouring.
