Plastic Ban!! Plastic Ban!! Plastic Ban!! – Really??????
Around the world Echo of this word is going on, many protest & activities going on. All kind of creativity is getting involved towards it even I am thinking how I can reduce my plastic use and putting that as habit.
But today Me & CA Mukesh Solanki was thinking about it again in new dimension, that few years ago born this product is so much essential in our life – that every single person is connected and dependant on this and if you say living without it something like de-addiction of it. But before all this – is Plastic really that Bad??
What do you mean Mr. Mukesh Solanki??
I mean the product / material which is so much useful with a quality that it can’t be decomposed so easily and can be used in every single thing from small plastic carry bag to making fridge, computer etc.
Actually, we human are really bad – that after using it we are throwing it like nothing as putting in garbage and then our mother earth & father ocean is not able to digest it – which in return causing the problem to complete environment.
Don’t you think – problem is not the plastic but our habit of throwing it into garbage and actually ignoring the aspect of its re-usable quality?
So time is to BAN throwing plastic into garbage not the Plastic – Just imagine if plastic does not goes into garbage – will there be problem – whichever is happening??
How this can be put into working – CA Mukesh Solanki have some of thoughts on this – where you can add on more and some concrete action can be taken without so much of protest and all
# firstly there need to be created demand for “Used Plastic” which will be by two ways
1. Promoting the Industry who 100% Recycle the plastic.
2. Promoting the recycled plastic products.
3. Making Compulsory norm for companies those who use the new plastic – to use 50% of their purchase as Re-cycled plastic raw material.
# after creating this demand, there is requirement to get supply chain of this used plastic from house hold to those users / recycling units
1. There shall be one adhar linked account for carbon foot print of every individual against cash back points, which will be earned by way of depositing used plastics at “Used Plastic Collection Centers”
2. “Used Plastic Collection Centers – UPCC” shall be opened in all the streets.
3. All the shops will be given negative points for buying the plastic products which they can make positive by depositing used plastic to “UPCC”, otherwise need to pay some weighted amount against negative balance, therefore they will be charging the amount to customers – which they can get refund by depositing the used plastic.
4. Such cash back points can be used to by the recycled products.
# At Broader level such “UPCC” Points can be put with “Responsible Citizen Score – RCS” – Where RCS can be based upon many factors which as a citizen we require to follow – which will be against Swachhata Participation, NGO Service Activities, Being part of various activities of nation building – in return of that person would be getting many rewards and certificates – such as toll discount, medical discount, hospital, medicine discounts, TDR, discount in GST rates etc. If score is reduced, they will be paying higher charges everywhere.
# Here I have not considered effects of (Pollution) of manufacturing of plastic & related products – which is with textile as well all other industries also.
# I have not considered other bad effects of Plastic, but we can surely start thinking on other dimension rather than in one box of banning the plastic, because whichever alternative to plastic we will find it will be causing damage to environment – like use of paper or wooden or leaves products will require to make those products on mass scale which will require huge raw materials and jungles would be required to get cut extra for this one – Since the consumption is high and any one product dependency would make damage to environment – which says in Sanskrit “Ati Sarvatra Varjayate” – “Too much of everything is bad”.
Let’s think of some out of the box and work on saving, restoring the environment for our survival..
