Planting seeds in your career??

Depending on where you are in the world, the next three months of June, July, and August offers different opportunities for planting new seeds in your career.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere:

This period will be a mix of warmer weather and summer breaks.... time for the outdoors and soaking up the sun.

Many people take this opportunity to relax, recharge, and expand into the longer days.

On the other hand, for those in the Southern Hemisphere:

This time marks the approach of winter. The days become shorter, and the weather turns colder, encouraging a more introspective and cocooning period.

It's a season for cozying up indoors, reflection, and tending to one's inner well-being. This is a great time to focus on self-care, and embrace the slower pace that winter brings.

No matter where you are, these next 3 months offer a different opportunity to align your career with the rhythm of the season, whether it’s through the expansive activity of summer or the calm contemplation of winter.

Both these opposite states represent opportunities to plant new seeds in your career.

Is your career expanding in the heat or cocooning and strengthening in the cold?

Both states are relevant, and both states are necessary as we grow.

Planting seeds in your career: ??

We all have the chance to choose the seeds we want to plant in our careers. The basic idea of planting is the same, but every seed grows differently.

??Friction can be a gift if we're ready to face the pain and work with it. When we're in the wrong job, it highlights what seeds we need to plant and how urgent they are for us.

??Alchemy is the process of knowing yourself and turning something undervalued into something valuable and clear. Unearthing our skills and talents and knowing how to use them- strategically to move towards more satisfying work.

??Clarity helps our seeds grow. Bringing everything together in a clear way, with weekly action steps to take is what supercharges our career.

Digging up the soil too soon won't give us a good crop.

Our job is to protect and nurture our seedlings.

A huge frustration I tackle in my career strategy work is when we tend to overlook the small stuff as we rush towards the big results.

Taking the smaller, less meaningful ideas for granted and in so doing

Missing the chance of BIG growth

Unexpected clarity comes from noticing the small things.

We can strategize and plan all we want, but unless you slow down to speed up, you'll feel like you're stuck in a never-ending loop of Groundhog Day.

For example, past clients missing the small things in their careers:

- For my client *Alice, it was a lack of time, rather her values were completely misaligned with where she thought she was heading.

- For *Tshepo, it was a fear of the unknown, he just needed a paint by numbers plan of how to move to the next stage in his work.

- *Tinus couldn't understand why he lacked confidence in his work, until he saw that he didn't fully appreciate his true inner strengths.

- *Bianca referred to it as analysis paralysis, but in fact she was totally bored and under stimulated by the work she thought was right for her.

Steady and slow is how you sow the seeds of your career.
