Planting Seeds of Faith
"What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task." - 1 Corinthians 3:5 (NIV)
The Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 3:5-7, offers a wise perspective on the roles of every member of the body of Christ in the expansion of His Kingdom. He writes: 'So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.'
We are commanded to share the Gospel as faithful witnesses. However, we cannot save anyone; that is beyond our power. God is the one who saves; we are merely called to be faithful in our task.
We plant seeds of faith, build relationships, extend grace, and offer hope to those around us by testifying of what God has done for us. We are called to authentically live out our faith.
In 2 Kings 5, we find a beautiful story of an Israelite girl who finds herself in the service of Naaman, the commander of the army of Aram. Despite being taken captive and forced into servitude by her enemies, this young girl's faith remained strong. She witnesses Naaman's struggle with leprosy and her heart is moved with compassion rather than bitterness. In an extraordinary act of faithfulness, she speaks up and suggests that Naaman seek healing from the prophet Elisha in Israel. She firmly believed in the power of God to heal.

Similar to this story, our role is to be faithful witnesses in any circumstance, pointing others to Jesus, the one who saves and heals. When we share our faith, we may not see immediate results, and that's okay. Our responsibility is to share the message of hope and redemption, trusting that God will bring about the harvest in His perfect timing.
So, share your faith and take heart! Your job is to faithfully fulfill the task that God has assigned to you—to be a light in the darkness, a voice of truth, and love in a world that desperately needs it.
