Plant the seed, Fertilize, Weed, Grow!
Let’s talk about the true secret sauce of networking shall we!
I warn you, we will NOT be discussing the following:
- A perfect pitch
- Follow up
- Body language
- Email campaigns
- Events
- 1-1’s
- Speaking Engagements
- Rebuttals
- Creating sharable content
- Story telling
So what the hell are we talking about you ask!? We are talking about YOU!!
Another shocking piece of news, people actually are interested in you!
I KNOW.
Your energy, authenticity, personality and ability to connect is a crucial element of what makes you memorable. People want to be around people they feel good spending their time with. They WILL notice when you’re “off” and people can feel when you are putting on a “front” instead of just being yourself. So, in this sometimes crazy and stressful world how do we maintain mentality and energy allowing you to consistently present your authentic self and authentic energy?
Here is my number one tip for mentality maintenance
Find YOUR coping mechanism!
We are all human and and everyone has bad days or moments when our positive mentality becomes threatened. Whether it’s trouble at home, a harsh client or just something that doesn’t go our way, we all get there! The power is in being able to uplift your own mindset right back to it’s optimal state. Here are my personal top two coping mechanisms.
- Dance it out! - Start to accumulate a list of your favorite songs. Specifically a list of your “happy songs.” These are the ones that come onto the radio, make you turn up the volume and automatically cause a chemical response in your body to start moving. Document those and start a list!! Whenever your mentality is in question blast those songs and dance like no one is watching!! This is the 3 minute mentality repair, guaranteed to work if so brave to go for it!
2. Phone a friend! - Find your business buddy who can talk you off the ledge when you need it. This is the person that has the superpower of instantly making you feel better after an hour vent-sesh. This person is usually someone who can provide perspective, experience and guidance. Remember, we are all humans and we all need the ability to vent when needed. It’s healthy!
Remember your brain is a seed. It has absolutely all the potential in the world to grow as tall as a bean stalk! It just needs to be nourished properly and weeded regularly in order to grow! Keep your soil healthy by filling it with the right people, maintain your soil by weeding out the negatives and get ready to climb that stalk!
Your strategy should include your mentality
