Some week huh? Lots of New product launches, many of which first presented at the natural products West Expo last week. We mention a few of them below. Especially lots of new cream cheese product introductions. Not only in retail but also in coffee chains and bagel stores.

New Product Launches
Saputo Dairy, one of the largest manufacturers of cheese and dairy products in the United States and listed ono the Toronto Stock Exchange introduces the plant-based Vitalite brand in the US market with 7 (!) new plant-based cheese products, among which: plant-Based Mozzarella slice, Mozzarella shreds, Cheddar slices, Cheddar shreds, Grated Parmesan Style an Cream Cheese Spread. The company is backed by 60-plus years of dairy cheese-making experience, along with 30 years of vegan cheese- making experience gained through Saputo’s acquisition of Bute Island Foods (UK) in 2021. Simply Organic (owned by US-based Frontier Co-op) launches a plant-based Cheese sauces. The new vegan and Certified Gluten-Free cheese sauce mixes are - according to the company "the first shelf-stable, all-organic cheese sauce mixes to amplify any dish". They will come in 3 flavours: Cheddar, White Cheddar and Jalape?o Queso Blanco. Read more...
General Mills' Bold Cultr is now aiming at the bagel shop clients. The plant-based precision fermentation cheese product will first become available at Rise Bagel Co (North Loop, Minneapolis). The cheese - created under General Mills' innovation Lab G-Works was first launched in retail in November last year. By launching in bakeries the company hopes to enter a potentially more discriminating market. Vevan Foods (USA), will debut their first cream cheese product, UnCreamCheese, at select retailers this spring. UnCreamCheese is a cultured cream cheese-style spread. The product will be offered in four varieties: Plain, Caramelized Peach & Maple, Garlic & Herb and Strawberries & Cream. Read more...

Starbuck's rival Peet’s Coffee (USA) launched a new spring plant-based menu. The coffee chain's new menu has a fully dedicated plant-based selection crafted with ingredients from Beyond Meat, JUST Egg and Violife. Menu-items will contain for example: vegan smoked provolone cheese and melted vegan cheddar on a toasted bagel. Read more...

The Estonian alt dairy start-up ProProtein initiated a seed funding round to develop its precision fermentation platform. The company is looking for €700,000, ProProtein aims to develop scalable biotech to produce dairy proteins from yeast. Read more...

They mention: Chao, Follow your heart, Kite Hill, Loca, Misha’s Kind Foods, Miyoko’s Creamery, So Delicious, SriMu, Violife, Trader Joe’s, Parmela Creamery, GOOD PLANeT, Forager Project and Treeline. Although we believe there are plenty more 'best' plant-based cheese brands out there, it's still an interesting read. Read more...
