Plans or dreams?
Jan 6 · 2 min read
The difference between a plan and a dream is a date. Heard that one before? …….Well, it's still true. Goal setting has been simplified to just wishful thinking.
There is a way to do it and a way to fool yourself into thinking that you are doing it.
First and foremost you need to put your plan down on paper. It does not have to be physical paper, digital works. But some form of physical works so much better. A note that you place in your hands daily serves as a daily reminder. It keeps you focused.
A note that lists the goal of your plan and nothing else.
A phone is far to multi-purpose and can distract you. You could write it down there and never see it again. Your goal and nothing else but your goal on that paper carries far more weight. Literally.
You can write the plan for your goal on other mediums. But the goal must be on paper. Paper, you carry daily.
Understand this” No plan survives first contact with the enemy” That is a military quote. To bring it home to the everyday world. No plan survives reality. It will change. The goal must not. However, the tactic can change depending on the near-infinite randomness of reality.
Your plan needs to be broken down into daily tasks. Something you do daily. No matter what. You must do something in relation to your goal on a daily basis. Even if it is of a nature that things must be done by an external party. You can visualize the outcome on a daily basis.
Your goals must be tied down to more than just think. You must believe in it.
A focused mind is not a focused mind. If you find confusion in your plan. Go back to it and work it again.
