Our interns are excited and ready and so are we! The Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program held our Intern Prep Day on March 23 at the Capital One Headquarters, located at 8036 Dominion Parkway in Plano. Intern Prep Day serves as a pivotal moment for students to gain invaluable insights into the professional world, ensuring they are well-equipped for their future endeavors.
More than 300 Plano ISD students received the essential tools required to successfully navigate the competitive internship process. Activities included engaging workshops, interactive sessions and expert-led discussions tailored to instill confidence and competence in the participating students.
As the job market continues to evolve, the Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program recognizes the importance of preparing students for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Mayor John Muns is enthusiastic about the program, stating, "The Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program is committed to fostering the next generation of leaders. About the Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program
Founded in 2014 by former Mayor Harry LaRosiliere, the Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program (planomayorsinterns.org ) has partnered with local corporate, civic, and nonprofit organizations to place more than 900 student interns in paid internships throughout Plano.? This annual initiative is designed to provide rising junior and senior high school students within Plano ISD with meaningful internship experiences, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to the various professional opportunities the Plano community has to offer. The program is dedicated to fostering the growth of future leaders and contributing to the economic development of the City of Plano.
