Planning a publicity campaign

Planning a publicity campaign

As a self-published author, I have to do my own publicity. That's mainly through social media - one reason why I try to make at least one post to this page every day - and I try not to have too many that are just advertising, because people are likely to turn off and/or to unlike my page if they don't find the posts interesting.

For me, the book that I'm currently working on is always the most absorbing, but that doesn't always transalate easily into something that other people will be interesting in reading about. in particular, a week of typing doesn't tend to generate much in the way of images to draw the eye to the page and capture the imagination. That's one reason why I've started thinking about the cover design while the book is still in the planning stage. That way, I've got at least one image to illustrate any posts about how the new book is progressing.

Alongside writing the first chapters of "Lethal Mix", I've been designing some images to accompany the Tweets that I try to put out once or twice every day. They also come in handy for Facebook and LinkedIN posts. Here's a selection of what I've made so far. I hope they make you hungry to know more about the book!
