Planning Consent Granted
Chase New Homes have secured planning consent for the demolition and sensitive rebuild of the former 'Assembly Hall' at our scheme at the former Friends School, Saffron Walden.
The building was originally destined for conversion as part of a wider 96 dwelling planning consent, comprising the sympathetic conversion of the 1876 built former school to deliver 52 apartments; and 44 additional build homes in the grounds. However, following comprehensive asbestos removal and structural survey, the assembly building was mutually deemed unstable, and a new build solution was agreed in principle.
Our Development Team have worked closely with Uttlesford Planning Department over the past months to design a new building that delivers further family accommodation, within the original assembly hall footprint and ridge height, whilst presenting a modern twist on the original building to compliment the prestige of this wonderful former school.
