At HN Services we believe that there will always be a need for #COBOL programmers.

Thus, during the last 16 years in Romania, we have trained around 300 youngsters in this programming language and 8000 at the Group level, in our 11 locations worldwide.

We have foreseen the need of our partners and their difficulties in recruiting in this technology so we became their entrusted partner during the years. Moreover, as one of our Senior Cobol colleagues said: “ It would take an apocalyptic size event for ?? COBOL programming language to disappear…”.

We have seen the challenges during the pandemic, when legacy systems such as governments, healthcare and banking found themselves in a shortage of employees due to the high internal demands they had: it’s hard and there is no time to start rewriting applications from scratch and adjustments need to be done in the programming language they were written in.

Therefore our goal is to maintain alive this dinosaur we call COBOL and to continue training youngsters in this technology. The paradox on the market and the reality show?that, even though COBOL is no longer taught in universities, the legacy applications remain and we need people to continue working with them.

To help this along and anticipating the summer holidays and ending the universities' classes ?????? ??????, we would like to open new training sessions for partners who would like to embark in this journey with us.

We train internally youngsters for 3 months (without any costs for our partners) and afterwards they are ready to start new missions as young developers in this unique language called COBOL.
