Plan your future...

Friends,
Do you believe that times are changing fast. A time was there when my grandfather, after doing his engineering from Varanasi joined TISCO and later retired from there. My uncles then entered TATA’s and after serving for 25-30 years shifted to some other Company because the pressure and moderisation of the plant required retrenchment at all levels. Now we hear that Infosys, WIPRO, TCS and other Company’s lay-off or go for VRS. Permanancy in job is slowly lost. Have you met any such employee? Are they living happily?
We work in different Companies from morning till night and every moment our brain is calculating, working & remains pre-occupied with office. We do not even properly pay attention to our families. Our children are growing in a totally different atmosphere where parents are not there to look after them. Even I see parents quarreling with the school authorities that why school is closed for some reason or the other and that disturbs them as to where the children will be adjusted when they are in office. Even parents these days quarrel with the teachers, result is, children are losing patience against teachers. A new arrogant, indiscipline, uncaring and ill-mannered generation is being born just by the parents due to pressure in job. There are other factors too but I am taking those cases only where both the parents are working.
Under the given circumstances, who can think “out of the box” as the Companies demand. Subsequently performance slowly goes down & the management starts throwing out the employees irrespective of the position one holds whether you are a VP or GM or a Manager.
Once the job goes, all your “pseudo-shows” – car, blue-tooth, Ray Ban glasses, arrogance, come crashing on the ground. The lifestyle dives to the unexpected low. The tone mellows down. Your self-image dwindles with the dilution of the money in your pocket. Banks stand as a shark to get there EMIs, so on and so forth… Unwantinly, you compromise for a job and a position that is far below your ‘standard’.
Has anyone ever tried to visualize why this happens?
A- We all are so over confident that we believe such situation will happen with my neighbor and our neighbor thinks vice versa. What an irony.
B- Pseudo-Egoism- We believe that job is ours whereas job belongs to the owner. Those who have experienced ‘timeout’ i.e. the gap between two jobs very well understand what I am saying. If you are in the middle or top of the pyramid, you have a family to support. How you feel then? HOLLOW. Then what for this false ego?
C- Arrogance- in office and at home because of your position and fatty pay package. Can you show arrogance when not in job or lying on a hospital bed? Where is your arrogance when your boss shouts at you and throws file on your face? So what’s the harm in living a life of love and good relationship when your arrogance is temporary and based on falsehood?
D- Patience- I don’t know how much chemical is there in our foods these days that everybody seems to have lost his/her patience. The way people drive their vehicle, the way people behave in a queue leaves me spellbound. Be patient. It will solve 100s’of problems and you will be stress free too. Try to LISTEN MORE.
What you should do?
Someone asked me – “when whole family is fast asleep Vermaji, in the mid of the night & the room is dark, kindly stand in one corner and in that darkness imagine yourself as not a part of the family. The reality of life will come to the fore”. I did! You can also try.
All arrogance, politics, pseudo-egoism, over confidence will vanish. How fragile is our family, how weak we are and lot many thoughts will come to you if you really love your family.
So, try to be a good & patient human being- both in office and in the neighborhood of your home. Respect all. Try to help all. See if you can develop good relationship with all those who come across you and not the least see if you can develop a side income along with your job in your free time, no matter what it takes as an owner and not as an employee because if you are an owner, you can pass the ownership to your sons/wards. If any untoward happens, still the family can survive without your salary from the business that you have developed.
Times have changed, time has evolved & there are new things coming up fast like ecommerce, wellness, networking, direct marketing etc. Get serious on them. In another decade or so, AI will take 60% of jobs. Opportunities are many & waiting, One who picks up a side business now will create an enormous wealth for the family in future..
Study what the economists of the world are saying. Read books, see you tube, develop a habit now to forecast your future which we generally do not plan. Planning Family Future Financial Security is a must now as we are no more in joint families.
Talk to me or write to me on this. May God give you some insight; a ray of hope to live for others and family along with your job. You can call me on 9810453720 or write to me on [email protected].
