Plan Your Career for 2025

Plan Your Career for 2025

It's the final week of 2024 and you've been doing well this year. Now it's time to recharge, recalibrate, and reset for the new year.

Some of the people I've spoken to are thinking about their careers. It's actually a fantastic time to reflect on this. Not only because it's year-end, but also because it's timely to seek out opportunities earlier in the year if you are considering a change.

When it comes to measuring your career, there's no standard ruler. We chart our own career journeys, milestones, and achievements. Here are some questions I apply in career coaching, and you can use it for yourself too:

1. Did you achieve the career plans you set out last time? Why or why not?

2. What are your most important goals for this year? Why?

3. What do you want your next position in this (or the next) company to be? Why?

4. What professional growth opportunities would you like to explore this year? Why?

5. Who can help you reach your career goals, and how?

Notice that many of these questions are followed by "why." This is really important because it helps you understand your intrinsic motivations for wanting to achieve those things.

All the best!
