As he says: "Destiny took it off", Madhan was stuck between - "Anxiety - Pulling his socks off" and "Should I follow a morning routine?"
On a dull Saturday evening, when Madhan was completely drenched out with his constant efforts to stay productive, he kind of slipped a bit. Gathered in a group to finish the testing of equipment (On which he was working for the last 1.5 years), he forgot to inform the laboratory owner. It completely slipped off his mind to inform the laboratory owner of the extended working hours even on Sunday. Without them he and his team cannot begin with the testing as all the apparatus required would not be accessible. Due to which, the team's constant efforts a night before would go in vain. We had to test the relative humidity of the air entering inside the equipment and compare it with that coming out of it.
Madhan had no clue how he was going to survive this. Imagine people working day and night for this, and he pulling all of this out. So, Madhan calmed himself out and realized that he is definitely not going to be a panic person. There might be endless pressure and anger from the peeps, but how would panicking help him. So he took it up as a challenge and visited the site the next morning. Little did Madhan know of the laboratory person was he catches his morning prayers at a temple right outside the township.
As Madhan had no gaps to be filled for the equipment to go ready, apart from the testing, he was quite anxious to find a solution to this. So without wasting a minute here and there, Madhan started off for the temple. Surprisingly, the owner was there. He could finally feel a sigh of relief running down his spine. He immediately went to him, greeted him, and requested him to cut his walk short. This was quite intriguing as the elder people are so subtle. You go out to ask for a small gap to be filled, they return with their extravagant help.
They immediately reached the lab person's house to pick up his identity card and were back on time and the testing was completed. Throughout this, there was a thought back of Madhan's mind running to and fro and kicking him off. Madhan was always annoyed by the very thought of being a morning person. Plus there were seniors around him always forcing others to follow their ways. Being young or old doesn't seem to matter for them when it comes to displaying morning routines.
But this incident, made Madhan revise his thoughts on how being a morning person could help. This day definitely made him respect the people who follow certain routines.
So this was Madhan's story on how a single incident made him change his opinions from being annoyed to respecting the seniors around him. Often in the race of productivity, I feel we lose the basics. You cannot be a super-duper productive person throughout if there's no or little planning around. Routines however are just stepping stones to what we could actually achieve. It doesn't really matter if you're a morning angel or a night owl! If you add in a few moments of planning your days ahead, you could definitely skip the huge adrenaline rush. Panicking is obvious and creating havoc is accepted too. But draining out completely with this isn't.
So here's to the learning from Madhan's story, "Plan a bit. Follow a routine. Skip the rush."
