PLAIN BORING SPAGHETTI

I was on daddy daycare duty recently and I had to make breakfast for my children and myself. Being a week day, my wife would normally have prepared and packed my breakfast to go, but this day was different, I was going to be chef, playmate and nanny.
Phew!
Not wanting to do anything too elaborate, I decided to make some pasta that I could easily eat with the bowl of stew my wife had brought out of the fridge before leaving.
I was just going to cook the spaghetti in water and not add any extra colours, as I was already tired from the just concluded morning play session involving two small shovels, lots of sand, some toys and a tricycle. I'll leave your imagination to do the rest.
As I brought out the raw material for my simple meal, my mind immediately travelled back fifteen years to a period in time when I ate this same meal almost everyday.
I was home alone, recuperating from a fractured and dislocated right arm. So, whenever I was hungry, I had to come up with meals that didn't require any cutting or chopping, and pasta always won the day.
It wasn't an easy two months with the cast on my arm, because I could only cure my boredom and hunger with plain boring spaghetti.
At the time, I didn't feel I had much of a choice, but today I do and could have cut and chopped all the various vegetables I loved into the pasta I was preparing.
Thank GOD!
With gratitude in my heart for having two hands and being able to use them, it occurred to me that there are so many things to be grateful for and we as individuals whine a lot over so many things that are not as necessary or expedient as we think they are.
As you grow older and wiser, one of the things you realise is that you don't need most of the things you fought so hard to have growing up. The more mature you get, the less and less important many things become, and you wonder why you spent so long chasing after things you didn't need instead of appreciating the ones you had.
Today I am grateful for God's love and the loved ones he has given me, including you reading this, that I haven't met yet. I am grateful for all the work GOD has put into molding me, even during the times I was resistant. I am grateful for all HE has blessed me with, even the things I haven't discovered yet.?
Friends, what are you grateful for?
There are so many things in your life that you should be grateful for, but you'll need to quit comparing and complaining to discover them.
Kindly write what you're most grateful for in the comment section.
To your success,
