Sector Presentations were scheduled for PGDM 1 st yr on September 2, 2017, with an

objective to understand the sectors and to connect students directly with the employers.

It also provides a valuable professional learning experience to students and they have

an opportunity to become familiar with companies expectations.

IILM SCOP team along with faculty members systematized day long presentations

which aimed to raise awareness of the benefits of high quality work experience and

culture in the industries. This gave the future managers of IILM an opportunity to get

an overview of industries around them and how it could help them to decide their

career path. 

There’s no denying that we need to invest time and resource into placements. Putting

together a structured workshops with real time experienced Industry exposure for the

students brought in positive & inspired ambience for the whole institution.

The lessons cultured by highly experienced raconteurs from the industries are shared

below:

Mr. Keshav Bajaj ( IILM Alumni-2002), Co-Founder and Head of Operations from Octo

Connect talked about Data Analytics and Telecommunications sectors. He introduced

the sector and represented his company. He could enlighten the students on the

current scenario of the telecom industry. The most significant part of the session

beheld included the upcoming era of Artificial Intelligence and need of learning sets of

qualities one should attain to outshine in the 4 th Industrial Revolution. The reputation

of the internet technology was pulled out in profundity by stating its current scenario

worldwide. The growth rate of the company has been astounding, as explained by

him. He also could communicate the students the perks and career growth in this

sector.

Mr. Kamal Sahdev (IILM Alumni-2007), Head- Talent Management from Delta India,

pitched the growing concern for utilizing the natural resources to produce maximum

energy and how Delta India has been playing an imperative position in building up

solar tracking solutions across the globe. Students were very thrilled to know about

the life at Delta of their employees. He successfully ensured them about promising

career at Delta India by stating that the people working in Delta are their greatest

assets.


Mr. Jones Joseph, The Group Business Director from Kantar IMRB International

accentuated that the research sector is the need of a more diverse ecosystem of


valued research outputs that go beyond just economy of any nation in this world.

Familiarizing that IMRB International is a market research, survey and business

consultancy firm. It was an efficacious session with high level of crowd pulling

discussion with students by elucidating them what it is in there to join the company

and how does it function in the various parts of the globe.

Ms. Rachita Dutta, EVP from Leo Burnett, Skilled in Digital Strategy, Customer Insight,

Advertising, Integrated Marketing, and Business Development edified the students of

IILM about Leo Burnett Worldwide being a globally active advertising agency based in

Chicago, with their Indian Headquarters in Bengaluru. She also offered enormous

support by humanizing the students of the institution about how advertising industry

is inevitable in the era of portraying itself to the consumers.

An engaging session benefitted the students about the insights of this sector in today’s

race and generation.

Ms. Saumya Shukla (IILM Alumni-2005) Manager-Operations at HSBC, Gurgaon had

explicated how HSBC holds the 88th rank on Fortune Global 500 list and briefed about

the up and coming of the company. She has been so versatile in her career, and

correspondingly directed the students of IILM through her journey of reaching and

holding such vital role in one of the leading banks in the world. She motivated the

students to pursue their career in banking sector as it provides 360 ° career

diversification within Financial Sector across the orb.

Mr. Anupam Pahuja (IILM Alumni-2005), Deputy Vice President IndusIND and

represented banking sector. He presented himself and his experience in Financial

Services domain with vast exposure into Compliance, Audit, AML, KYC and Business

Process. He could find such level of connectedness with the fellow students. He also

gave inputs as to what banking sector holds apart from just financial services. His

speech surely did brighten up the whole auditorium with constructive energy

throughout the session.

Mr Ajit Singh ( IILM Alumni-1996), Country HR Leader and VP, Encore Capital Group

took the last session of the day. It was altogether a different experience to meet and

listen to senior most Alumni of the institution. Mr. Ajit is a senior and accomplished

HR professional with 20+ years of experience in World's leading and most admired

companies. He very well explained the importance of economic empowerment and

further development attached to it. He was very enthusiastic to intermingle with the

future managers at IILM.

Overall, it was a day with “Treasured Learning Experience”
