Place not your trust in money, but place your money in Trust.

The heading of this Edition of The Competitive Edge is a quote from Oliver Wendel Holmes. In the past week, I have written an Article for a magazine on Trusts and Property and, in the process of researching the Article, I used some older material that I had gathered over the years. In the older material (2014), I discuss the risks that everyone faces and why placing your assets in Trust makes such perfect sense. The interesting part is that amongst the risks, I refer to a global pandemic, wars, the oil price and more. Isn't is absolutely alarming that all of these potential risks are hitting us simultaneously! COVID, the War in Ukraine, Oil at over $100 a barrel ... it sounds like the Billy Joel song: We didn't start the Fire!

Lastly, on a personal note, my thoughts are with the millions of innocent people of Ukraine and their brave soldiers, hence the picture for this Edition in the blue and yellow colours of their flag. I hope that common sense will eventually prevail and that there will be an end to hostilities. Unfortunately, it will be too late for those who have already lost loved ones, pets and possessions.
