Hello and welcome.
This newsletter is an introduction into all things me.
So before I give a synopsis of what this newsletter will be, allow me to give some background on who I am, and what I do.
My name is Eric Didier, but you can call me Dids, and I own a media company, Media Bolt Productions.
A lot of you probably know me from my time as a Misfit, with Urban Misfit Ventures. During that time I had amazing support from the brightest minds in this space within the company, and as COVID took down the business, it also took down my posting habits.
Now that isn't to say it is all because of COVID that I went mostly rogue for an extended period of time. I was also dealing with a lot of kept up things internally that nearing the end of my first company, also came to a head for me personally.
That struggle was anxiety.
Over the past 3 years I have been on a journey, with the help of medication to overcome anxiety and become a healthier human being.
I was battling having so many things filling me proverbial cup, that I had no way of emptying it out, and before I begin to start a family of my own for example, I needed to figure these things out internally. Now most of you have seen the progress as I have been posting it, and for those who don't know, I am currently in the process of dissolving myself of the need of medication and embarking on a new journey of taking a stand and building positive habits in place that will allow me to handle the anxieties of everyday life.
I must also note here, the bigger things that were stressing me during that time; my fathers cancer treatment, being a first time business owner, bringing my wife over through the K-1 visa, the stresses of going through poor business decisions, are all no longer hanging over my head, but as I tell my wife all the time, because of this anxiety coming to a head, a point where I was filling my cup up taking on the stresses of myself and others to the point of not being able to handle it anymore, my body cannot differentiate the difference between anxiety and excitement. To this day, 3 years later, I am only now first experiencing excitement as it should feel, heck, I was mostly a recluse if I didn't have anywhere to go for work if I had the choice to be up until only last week.
With all of that being said though, there is one thing I am beginning to feel now as I begin the next chapter of my life as what I am going to call anxiety controlled (as neither myself nor anyone on the planet will ever truly be anxiety free).
I am feeling empowered.
Cutting to the chase, I recently came across a concept of the second brain. Without going to in depth about it, the idea generally resides around:
More simply put, a second brain is a place where you can place anything from your primary brain, so you can better remember and recall it when it is needed for total optimization of your life.
I had been tampering with this concept, even without truly knowing it, in my favorite app of all time, Notion.
Mix that in with a lot of YouTube binging and I came across what became the inspiration of this newsletter, Ali Abdaal and Thomas Frank (with help from Tiago Forte, who created the Second Brain concept).
So there I sat, after binging hours of content about showing your work, optimizing your life, building a second brain, and it hit me.

Building a LinkedIn newsletter is the perfect place for me to bring this all together in a public space.
I have always been a believer that if you show your work, you will be able to help countless people navigate around challenges you have already faced and succeed in their own ways.
Which leads me into my next point of topic.
What you see here is a logo and concept I came up with almost 2 years ago. I wanted to be able to share the world of wellness to the world and make it something palatable for everyone, because it is shockingly easy for most people to add 3-5 years to their life by making changes that easily become invisible habits in their days. This concept was a YouTube channel, then random health facts on social media, then almost a podcast, and now finally, an official newsletter. It is called Wellness Equipped and the mission is to bring my own life experiences as someone who has admittedly spent probably in the thousands over the years tinkering with my own wellness in different ways through things such as wearable devices like the Oura Ring (which is easily my favorite wearable) to supplements like mushroom coffee, which I find myself not going a day without because of how much it helps.
In this newsletter I will be creating weekly content surrounding all things health and wellness. A new weird biohack is making waves? I will try it and report back to you. Is Alpha-GPC the best supplement to be taking? Maybe I can tell you why it may be right for you and what it is. Garmin released a new fitness watch? Maybe I can snag one and let you know how it works!
Nothing in the space is exempt from my potential to write on it, not to mention I will also be writing articles based on my own lifes wellness journey from the anxiety I briefly touched on before to what supplements I take when and why.
I plan to launch the first edition of the newsletter this Friday, so click here to be an early subscriber to that newsletter.
I will be releasing weekly content through that newsletter ideally going live every Friday at 10am CST, although that may change if testing other times proves otherwise.
So what about this newsletter on LinkedIn?
This newsletter will be released about biweekly, mostly meaning I plan to launch a new edition every other Monday, but depending on the goings on of my life, personally and professionally, that may become 1 week between editions if I have a lot to say or 3 weeks if I get busy and I have no time to say anything.
I will be covering my entire journey here, from creating content for Wellness Equipped and my own personal channels, behind the scenes looks etc, to what Media Bolt Productions is up to, some cool client projects we can share, let alone share behind the scenes from those projects to better show our capabilities as a business to you all.
I feel text is the best place for both newsletters because I always have access to a typing format. With making Wellness Equipped a podcast, I wanted to bring myself away from what I do every day for my company, and with that only created more friction as timing my own recording schedule with guests if I chose to have them on just wan not a long term feasible plan, and in my eyes putting something out in a different way is better than nothing at all. I also feel that typing is a better way for me to brain dump and edit and the content for these is usually a lot more in depth than I can fit in a quick social media video.
So join me in this journey, or these journeys rather, and follow along as I share everything there is to be that I am passionate about in my lifetime on this planet and the work I am doing to leave a legacy of wellness and education for generations to come.
I have no idea how LinkedIn pushes these newsletters so if you aren't already a subscriber here it would mean the world if you could subscribe (as well to Wellness Equipped, but that might be a more niche audience of those reading this).
And with all of that being said, I will end these newsletters as I like to do every video:
Until next time, I will see you on the internet.
