Pivoting - New Networking Event

Pivoting - New Networking Event

A few months ago I started a journey that I didn't realize was going to change me as a person: I decided to host an event.

Don't know if you've ever jumped into the deep end on this, but hosting an event that includes securing a physical space, finding sponsors, purchasing swag, locating speakers, designing workbooks, figuring out the agenda, spiffing out the wardrobe, advertising and doing outreach is a LOT. Even with a team of people.

There were times it got pretty overwhelming and I lost sleep. But holy moly, the changes that happened inside me? Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I suspected this might happen, since this was way outside the norm of what I'd normally do. And I've met a ton of excellent people who love me and support me, and are ready for the next time we spin up an event -- and there are a lot more coming.

For this one, we have a big pivot: instead of a two day podcasting intensive, it's a one day come-as-you-can powerful networking event.

I say "powerful" because most networking events I've been to, people either jump in and start working the room OR stand around like awkward pangolins waiting for someone to engage.

Instead, a few of us will be serving as Ambassadors, and we each already know quite a bit about some of the people in the room.

We'll come talk with you for a couple minutes, understand what your goals are, and then, most importantly, know exactly who to put you in touch with.

With most networking groups it's always a crap shoot knowing whether you'll come away with a valuable connection. For this one, you will, because we're gonna be intentional about it :)

This is called the Networking Open House -- and if you're in the St. Louis area, you should come!

It runs from 8a to 2p at the Sheraton Westport on Thursday March 28th, and there's room enough to have a bustling high-energy environment.

More details are up at this page. If you can make it, be sure to purchase a ticket!

How do you envision this networking event contributing to the growth of the podcasting community in St. Louis Michael "Fritz" Fritzius?

Pod Curious? "This is a family show!" Be careful or some who join engagement pods will arrive.

Hey Carolyn Comporato this might be something to consider.
