?? PIVOT!! Adapt or die?

?? PIVOT!! Adapt or die?

Maybe that’s a slightly dramatic title…

Life has changed since lockdown. Not only do I see my husband nearly every minute of every day now (a solid test of one’s marriage!) but we’re also juggling a 10 week baby boy (who’s a total dreamboat may I add). Throw into the mix the worries that many others have around finances, health and safety of family and friends, I also need to think about work and how I can pivot what I do professionally in the world of diversity and inclusion to still add value given the current climate.

I’m not dealing with this by myself. I have a phenomenal business partner who’s also at home trying to entertain a 2 year old each day as well as being pregnant. Over the last 4 weeks, we’ve WhatsApped, Zoomed, FaceTimed and exchanged late night texts, working our socks off, adapting our Perception and Awareness training to be fit for online delivery.

For us, it wasn’t just a case of flinging everything online. Everything we do is about impact. We wanted to make sure that delivering our workshops online didn’t jeopardise the value they have. (Thanks to friends and family for being our honest guinea pigs).

With that being said, I’m proud of us both. We now have a trilogy of workshops tweaked for online consumption at a total BARGAIN of a price. A mere £30 each, or £75 for the lot. ( A fraction of our normal corporate pricing! ) We’re giving away more content that we probably should at that price, but in return, you might have to deal with our professional kitchen backdrops or the chance of one of our partners walking through mid-session. Here’s what to expect:

  • Demystifying Diversity - Gain an understanding of what we mean by equity, equality and removal of barriers. This will help you identify at which stage of the ‘Diversity & Inclusion’ journey you’re in. We’ll give you a whistle stop tour of our ‘Seven Steps to Better Balance’ which will give you a framework for creating a bespoke action plan of how to further your inclusion efforts.
  • Unconscious Bias - It’s something we all have whether we like it or not! We’ll cover how bias is formed, the impact they can have on our decision making process and most importantly, top tips on how to break bias.
  • Inclusive Recruitment - Recruitment is often the scapegoat when it comes to conversations surrounding diversity. We’ll explore positive action VS positive discrimination, the impact bias has on recruitment, how to be more inclusive at each stage of the hiring process from job adverts to interview panels and how you can widen your talent pool.

Stay safe and please get in touch if we can help with anything work related or not. I know that lots of us are trying to adapt and figure things out at the minute. If we can help promote anything, give advice on something or just jump online for a virtual coffee so you can escape the kids and partner - we’re here.

For more information on our workshops, check out the Virtual Training Section of our website or give Lyndsey or I a nudge.
