Le danger de la désinformation, surtout lorsqu'elle est délibérément propagée par ceux qui se font passer pour des experts sans en avoir les compétences, est immense. Se prétendre expert dans un domaine sans les qualifications requises est non seulement une trahison envers ceux qui accordent leur confiance, mais aussi une bombe à retardement pour sa propre réputation. Le mensonge finit toujours par être découvert, et lorsque cela arrive, la chute est inévitable. Construire une carrière ou une image de soi sur des fondations de fausses compétences ne mène qu’à la perte de crédibilité.
