A Pitfall to Avoid when Getting in Shape...
Mike Howarth
Making high achieving men unstoppable. Welcome to The Peak Performance Project.
Happy Monday team let's jump into this week's newsletter.
I believe I've used the title above before, however...
If true what I'm about to go through today will most certainly trump what I've said previously.
In fact, I'm going to stretch myself and say that today's newsletter might well touch on the single biggest reason why people, (80 to 95% of the time) struggle and fail to maintain their health and fitness goals.
?
...And when I say that I don't mean because they use traditional methods that I designed to fail because they are off the shelf from one-size-fits-all programs either
So let's get started...
?
Picture this.
?
You want to...
You know it's important you challenge but also reward yourself, and rightly so.
You also know...
Achieving your long-term goals can't be leveraged effectively through dietary restriction, endless self-denial and beating yourself over the head while running and having cold showers every day either...
Despite what you hear about online.
?
And you don't want to let someone else down by hiring a coach not to give it your 100% attention.
These men were in exactly the same boat as you but the way client testimonials page
Thirdly...
You know what needs to happen to get the best result.
?
And here we are today, right now, with you reading this.
?
Unlocking your potential and achieving your long-term goals requires being aware of and successfully avoiding "hedonic adaptation"
?
For example...
Right now you might be excited and joyous about the idea of joining my program and achieving your physique goals, which is great.
?
However know that having a body you are proud of quickly becomes your normal, which by definition means that you're not as happy about it...
(Due to the nature of the mind's dopaminergic system versus the "hear and now" molecules, to extract insight from the amazing book "The Molecule of More")
?
Yes you can drop 1, 2, 3 stone and look the business like my client routinely do after joining my life-changing Behaviour change transformation program, The Peak Performance Project ...
But part of this is through an understanding and an awareness of how the mind will often provide challenges along the way, as we crystalise the skillsets and strategies to set you up for lifelong success post-transformation.
Hedonic adaptation is a pitfall to avoid and that is the point and premise of today's newsletter.
Speaking of which...
If you wish to join one of the 3 men to join my behaviour change transformation program this month here's my link to book your call today
