At the Pitch or Ditch competition at Business Research Showcase 2016 contestants were asked to pitch a project concept that will initiate, enhance or strengthen a potential research collaboration with an industry partner and communicate their project concept to an intelligent but non-specialist audience in five (5) minutes using a single PowerPoint slide.
My project is to develop a series of infographics to present my literature review findings on how social media can add value to Australian SME's. Infographics are an excellent way to organize and present information in an eye catching, easily digestible and understood, and easy to share in online platforms if you wish to do so. The usefulness of good infographics is supported by the fact that, in an ever-busier world, we want to learn faster and faster. It takes about 1/10 of a second for the brain to process visual content and become interested, while it takes 50 seconds to read 200-250 words. So, why not make Australian SME's reap the benefits of my research by communicating them through Infographics.
