How to save a Vessel from Pirates Attack?

So far this year, there have been 202 pirate attacks reported and actual numbers are more than reported incidents. In the last ten months, pirate attacks have routinely made headlines. The Singapore Strait is repeatedly in the news for pirate and robbery attacks.

In the event of a pirate attack, what measures can you take that increase your chance of surviving? First of all, before even heading into pirate waters it is a good idea to take some precautionary measures:

? Install a robust Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) onboard

? Put barbed wire around your ship and in places like the gangway opening

? Keep a vigilant watch on all sides of the ship

? Use Distance Measure Tool in the Vessel Tracking System to measure the nearest/shortest route to reach the destination or to the nearest safe passage upon sighting the pirates.

Falcon Mega Solutions Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) provides peace of mind for fleet Owners. In a world increasingly concerned about the threat of piracy and other incidents upon the high seas, SSAS provides a reliable way of alerting a flag operator/professional SSAS management and monitoring services of a vessel in distress.
