Pipeline-Picks: Flanges!

It’s Thursday again already! Welcome back to another edition of Pipeline-Picks, our weekly newsletter posted every Thursday morning! We’ve noticed some of our customers struggle to find the correct product they need, or don’t know if we stock what they’re after!

To help you find the perfect option for what you need, we’re creating series of newsletters explaining a few of our products and what each type we stock is! So, what is a flange? Flanges are used to connect pipes, valves or other fittings and you’ll need a specific type depending on the job! Our top-selling flange is our PN16 Reduced Thickness Dairy flange. This range of flanges are to suit OD Dairy tube and are available in a huge variety of sizes, from ?” to 10”! The thickness on this type of flange is the equivalent to E thick from ?” to 4”, then D think from 5” up. We carry our Dairy slip on flanges in 316 as well as 304, so no matter what size or grade you need, we’ve got you covered!

Don’t worry if you need a flange to suit Nominal Bore pipe…we stock those too! Like our Dairy flanges, we stock a full selection of Raised Face full thickness Slip On (RFSO) flanged to suit NB pipe. Whether you need a ?” flange in 304, or a 10” flange in 316, we’ve got stock on the shelf!

Another line of flanges we stock are our BSP screwed flanges. These are a fantastic option for those who are looking to save time and money on installations to BSP lines! Our BSP flanges are manufactured to suit PN16/4, with a BSP thread in grade 316. We stock these flanges in a variety of sizes, from ?” all the way up to 4”.

At Pipeline, we offer a selection of pressed collars, stub ends and backing rings! Pressed collars & stub ends are used with backing rings to stop the flange from falling off the pipe. Backing rings are a flange that has a chamfer, to allow it to rotate! This makes installation easier, as the backing ring is able to suit the other flanges bolt hole configuration. Our range of pressed collars runs from ?” to 254mm, available off the shelf and ready to be dispatched!
