PIPE STRESS ANALYSIS FOR FPSO MODULES
ProSIM acts as offshore piping engineering consultants and executes simulation-based qualifications for oil & gas assets. ProSIM has expertise in upstream, midstream and downstream engineering solutions and has provided engineering services for major domestic and international oil & gas clients.
ProSIM provides pipe stress analysis service for various types of piping and support qualification. Having executed several projects in piping, ProSIM has become a renowned engineering center for piping engineering. A Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) is a vessel designed to extract oil from subsea reservoirs. ProSIM has worked on pipe stress analysis of critical lines of multiple modules onboard the FPSO.
The pipe stress analysis involves analysis for design stage and as built piping layouts to evaluate high stress zones, support locations and support design and qualification. The analysis also includes multiple load combinations for which the pipelines and supports need to be qualified.
ProSIM executes and evaluates the piping layout and based on the analysis results can also recommend pipe rerouting to minimize flow pressure and vibration induced stress. ProSIM can also re-engineer support design and placement locations to minimize pipe deformation without damaging the pipelines or causing high stress zones, especially at joints and bend locations.
For the FPSO, ProSIM has worked on multiple piping systems such as cooling water loops, PWTs, skid-based piping etc. Pipe stress analysis is simulated including pipe modeling and stress analysis for various load cases. Supports analysis is conducted separately taking the pipe forces and stiffness calculations into account.
