"RSH, your partner in Global Mobility!"
The shortage of rental homes in the Netherlands has become a widely discussed issue. This problem is further exacerbated by the announced plans of Minister Hugo de Jonge, which will only increase the scarcity. It's noteworthy that an increasing number of rental properties are disappearing from the market, even as the number of international workers in the Netherlands is on the rise.
"Dutch Housing website Pararius reports that more and more rental supply is shifting to the sales market. Of all the homes offered for sale in the past quarter, 7 percent came from the free-sector rental market. This percentage has risen significantly from 4 to 7 percent in the past year. The number of available free-sector rental homes for new tenants has decreased by 31.7 percent in a year. Meanwhile, the number of responses to these available rental properties continues to rise. The average square meter price for a free-sector rental home in the third quarter of 2023 has increased by 5.2 percent compared to a year ago." (Source: VBO)
The growing trend is causing increasing concerns for employers and their HR managers as it becomes more challenging to provide international employees not only with suitable workplaces but also with new, comfortable homes in the Netherlands. This is a challenge where RSH | Relocation and Immigration Services excels as the ideal partner to relieve employers and HR managers.
