Pinterest has recently made a series of shifts within their executive staff?that indicate their plans to further grow as an e-commerce platform.

In looking at all these staffing changes, it is clear that Pinterest is working to evolve into a platform that supports the full commerce cycle. Pinterest is not alone in this goal - just about every major social media platform has current intentions to become more shoppable.

However, there are some?key factors?that set Pinterest ahead of the competition, including:

• 97% of searches on Pinterest are unbranded… but have high levels of commercial intent
• Shopping is a top priority for 48% of Pinterest users
• 75% of weekly Pinterest users say they’re?always?shopping
• Compared to Facebook, Pinterest sends 33% more traffic to e-commerce websites
