The Pinnacle Perspective - Happy Red Playoff Friday Chiefs Kingdom

Happy Playoff Red Friday

Welcome to the first (hopefully of three) Playoff Red Fridays in 2025! The?Chiefs welcome the Houston Texans to Arrowhead Stadium?on Saturday at 3:30 for the AFC Divisional Round.

Here are three things you need to know before kickoff:

1.???? The Chiefs are heavy favorites

1.???? As of the writing of this newsletter,?The Chiefs are favored by 8.5 points. Although our boys are 15-2 on the season, they are only 8-9 against the spread this year. TLDR:?The Chiefs will win, but it could be closer than you think.

2.???? Dustin Colquitt will be the drum honoree

1.???? The former Chiefs punter spent 15 seasons with the team and holds the franchise record for most games played.?He’ll bang the drum?and get the crowd rocking and rolling!

3.???? The Texans may be cursed

1.???? The Texans are the?only franchise in the NFL to have never won a road playoff game.?In fact, they’ve never advanced to an AFC Championship game!

There is also now BBQ on the line for the Chiefs vs. Texans playoff game.?

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas wagered some LC’s Bar-B-Q against Houston Mayor John Whitmire, who promised to send over Texas-style ‘cue when the Chiefs win on Saturday. We’ll let you all decide if that’s a fair trade, I think we will be sending them some of that good ole LC’s!

Lucas announced the bet yesterday at LC’s where pitmaster and current owner Tausha Hammett served up some ribs to the mayor and former Chiefs offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz.

In addition, There are quite a few watch parties happening tomorrow for the big game. One of the biggest will be the one at KC Power and Light District.

Per the VisitKC website, KCLive! is your home away from the stadium to watch and cheer on your favorite Kansas City team! Pre-game food & drink specials are available at participating venues, along with on-stage contesting and entertainment. Grab a cold beer, and some of your favorite stadium eats, and cheer on the home team! A $20 dollar cover fee will apply at the door and includes one beverage of your choice. Options include: bottle of water, Coca-Cola product, or a small domestic draft beer.

Doors open at 1:30 pm

All I gotta say is, Win or Lose it will always be CHIEFS KINGDOM!!! And of course, KC is the Town all around the globe tho; (in my Rich The Factor voice) Let's Go!
