Pillows - Avocados - Gatton

My June Newsletter - Leanne Gillam - McGrath Toowoomba

Have you perfected your pillow karate chop?

LNP shocking the nation with a win, a great bounce back in the stock market on the back of that result and more people coming through our inspections the following Saturday. Throw in another interest rate cut and we've had an interesting mid-2019 and a boost in confidence for the real estate market.

What perfect timing for me to attend the Realestate.com.au Advantage training and hear from Nerida Conisebee – REA Chief Economist. Her stats backed up what I had seen in the Domain.com.au Insight report the month before with the same Top 5 most searched for suburbs.

1. Newtown

2. Gatton

3. Rangeville

4. Harristown

5. Highfields

Hello, Gatton where did you come from?? How did you feature on the top 5 most searched suburbs for houses? Possibly it has something to do with the announcement of a ‘New Gaol’ in the local area. While we rely on our statistics to provide relevant information to our buyers, I have a theory that the consultants researching our region have artificially boosted the statistics...what do you think? Time will tell to see if Gatton really is on the move.

What is on the move though is our fascination with THROW PILLOWS!!! The "Pillowfication" of homes across the country is a phenomenon coined by Bernard Salt, guest speaker at “Future Toowoomba” last Friday. He emphasised he will never use satire when making a quip towards the Avocado smashing, crate sitting, coffee loving Millennials - unless you want your post to go viral, all over the world! I am loving their influence though, over the old veranda out the back which is morphing into the Alfresco dining area and Wok burner, with multi-channel music operated by ‘Google Home’.

Did you know that by 2020 in the US, it is predicted that the buying power of the Millennial's will outpace the Baby Boomers – these are your new buyers and it's important they can find you!

Hint, hint...they're online.

Understanding the constantly updating algorithms of the major Social Networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc) is an extremely important facet of my business. My recent sales and enquiries have all come from my highly targeted and effective Facebook advertising.

If you're interested in understand what you're suburb is up to, or the current estimated sale price of your home (even if you're not looking to sell), REPLY to this email and reach out.

Keeping my heels and standards high,

Leanne Gillam

P.S. The global Year To Date sales of avocados is up 8.5% from this time last year to a whopping $2.14 BILLION! That's a lot of smashed avo.
